The village of Callian is far from lacking in assets. It is overlooked by its feudal medieval castle, perched on a rocky outcrop. Laid out like the arc of a circle, its narrow streets are flowery and lined with houses sometimes centuries old. The commune boasts numerous historic remains. The oldest date back to the Roman era including, for example, the ruins of the aqueduct. The Chapel of Notre-Dame-des-Roses, the oldest religious monument, was built on a Gallo-Roman archeological site. The nearby Lake of Saint-Cassien draws many fans of diverse activities such as bathing, pedal-boats, canoing/kayaking, boat rides and fishing.
