A commune in the département of the Alpes-Maritimes in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Mouans-Sartoux lies between Cannes and Grasse, in immediate proximity to Mougins. Originally two separate communes, Mouans and Sartoux were officially united by Napoleon III in 1858. With a rural tradition, Mouans-Sartoux long focused its attention on silkworm breeding and agriculture (vines and olive-trees). Certain plants such as jasmine and "roses de Mai" were also widely cultivated for the perfume industry. The Château de Mouans, Chapel of Saint-Bernardin des Pénitents Blancs, and the lime kilns on the Place du Général-Leclerc all form part of the town's architectural legacy.
Winner of a "diploma of honour for the protection of scenery and esthetics in France" in 2003, Mouans-Sartoux offers a diverse range of properties in the midst of natural greenery.
