In the département of Le Vaucluse, Pernes-les-Fontaines, home to about 11,000 residents, enjoys a very pleasant environment. Combining a village atmosphere with an illustrious architectural legacy, the village is certainly not lacking in assets. No less than 22 of its buildings are in fact listed historic monuments. And the town does not owe its name to chance, as it boasts about 40 public and 80 private fountains ! Its leafy landscapes are rather like rural paintings, at the foot of the Monts du Vaucluse.
