The range of prices posted by estate agencies for apartments varies significantly, depending on their appointments and, most importantly, their location within the arrondissement. In Le Marais, for example, a 1-bedroomed apartment of 60 sq.m, with a parking place, is priced at 1,010,000 euros. In an 18th-C. building on Place des Vosges, a 4-bedroomed apartment of 193 sq.m is on offer at 5,565,000 euros. On the other hand, an old apartment of much the same size in the Arts et Métiers neighbourhood is pegged at 1,850,000 euros. There are, however, much more affordable properties. The lowest prices correspond, for instance, to a studio of 6.52 sq.m in an old building in the Temple neighbourhood, suitable for a student, up for sale at 42,000 euros.
