The charming commune of Fontvieille is in the département of Les Bouches-du-Rhône in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Regarded as one of the "pearls" of the Massif des Alpilles, it still devotes a large share of its economic activites to agriculture, especially through the production of Coteaux-des-Baux-de-Provence wines (a label shared with seven other communes in the Alpilles). The aqueducts of Barbegal, the mill of Saint-Pierre, the Châteaux of Montauban and L'Estoublan, the Canillac tower and the chapel of Saint-Jean-du-Grès are not to be missed ! Visitors also appreciate the many green areas discovered along pleasant hiking paths. For year-round residents, the commune provides nursery and primary schools : for intermediate and secondary education, pupils have to travel to Arles. As for sport, Fontvieille gives a place of honour to horse-riding, thanks to the presence of two equestrian centres.
Accounting for a smaller share of accommodation than houses, an appealing choice of apartments can be found, especially in the centre of Fontvieille.
