Saint-Rémy and Maussane, a well-balanced lifestyle

A real picture-postcard of Provence, the region of Les Alpilles is a privileged place to live, easily accessible by train and plane. Updated inventory of the two flagship addresses in this land named Desire.

Three hours from Paris via the TGV station, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is the commune best known internationally in the Alpilles. Lively in all four seasons, it offers a life-style combining art, culture, good restaurants, elegant hotels and charming boutiques. When strolling through the winding streets of its historic centre, one comes across lovely old fountains on shaded squares, bordered by the terraces of cafés and restaurants.

From Place Jean Jaurès to the entrance to the Old Town, you can admire a succession of private mansions built in the 17th and 18th centuries, testifying to the town’s noble past. 19 km from Arles, the authentic Maussane stretches out in the valley of Les Baux, in the midst of vast olive-groves. Offering enchanting scenery and a more peaceful lifestyle than its neighbour, the commune of Maussane nevertheless provides all the amenities necessary for pleasant everyday life, all year round.

For equivalent homes, the property markets in the two communes propose equivalent prices. Based for over 20 years in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, the AJC Immobilier team inaugurated a new agency in Maussane in October 2021, thus efficiently extending its proposals all over the Alpilles, from north to south. “It is important for us to welcome our clients in our physical agencies,” explains Agency Manager Julia Braille.

“While many contacts take place on line, an address “in situ” is still a guarantee of reliability encouraging trust and reassuring clients. Furthermore, at AJC, each client, whether buyer or seller, always deals with the same person. All members of the team offer total mastery of all aspects of the properties they are handling. They can thus answer all questions and efficiently assist clients in their plans.”

Backed by an excellent reputation acquired over two decades, the AJC agency proposes a broad-based array of properties ranging from a pied-à-terre priced at 200,000 € to a noble property on offer at several million euros. “We are very keen to offer all kinds of properties,” says Julia Braille. The agency’s clients include French but also Australian, American, Swiss buyers... Together with ex-pats preparing for their return to France.

“Buyers are fond of architectural features characteristic of the Alpilles such as stone, fireplaces, high ceilings, views, and they appreciate locations between village and countryside. They prefer properties not requiring any work, and even those that are already equipped, decorated and furnished. In this area, and if necessary, we have an address-book of serious professionals capable of meeting their needs.”
