Opio and Le Rouret, timeless charm

Surrounded by protected nature, the villages of Opio and Le Rouret are not far from Grasse in the back-country, and about 30 km from Nice. Particularly prized by fans of the little white ball, Opio lays claim to a long past. Once again in activity, its oil mill, recently acquired by the agglomeration authority of Sophia-Antipolis, dates back to the 15th century !

It is here that Jeanne-Chantal Brun Signoret founded the Opio Rouret Immobilier agency in 1983, since becoming a member of the network “L’Adresse”. Offering expertise in the sale of villas, building plots and recent apartments in Le Rouret, Opio, Châteauneuf-de-Grasse and Roquefort-lesPins, this proximity agency has been run by the same family for almost 42 years, whence its excellent reputation built on client satisfaction over the years.

“Today’s market has nothing in common with previous crises we have experienced since the agency opened its doors,”

says Jeanne-Chantal Brun Signoret. “In our sector, clients are now facing slim offerings, though prices remain stable, and even tend to dip in negotiations. Market dynamics here are identical to those on the rental scene. Since mid-October, we have felt a quiver in the right direction.” Representing the current market, properties on offer from 500,000 € to 1.2 million euros remain the most sought after by a local clientele in search of a new main home (70 % of sales). Always in attendance, clients looking for second homes from other regions and northern Europe, as well as investors, are also still on the look-out for properties of quality. Searching for all types of properties for her fully checked clientele of serious buyers, Jeanne-Chantal Brun Signoret is confident about the future. By way of example, she mentions properties reflecting today’s market, such as a charming house at the heart of the old village of Opio with annexes and a “vicar’s garden”. Brimming with authenticity, it sold recently for 630,000 €. On a higher level, in Le Rouret, a “rare” mansion of 400 m2 is completed by over 220 m2 of annexes (garages, cellar...) in a flat wooded park of 11,275 m2 with a pool. In need of renovation, this early 19th-C. bourgeois property sold for 2,380,000 €. A much more recent villa of 220 m2 designed by an architect offers a lovely open view, a large workshop and a garage. In a quiet residential area in the country, it needed freshening up, and sold for 1,250,000 €
