As from April 1st, advertisements concerning the sale or rental of living accommodation in France must be more precise. A ruling under the ALUR scheme imposes new obligations on members of the real-estate industry, who must now, in the case of a sale, always specify the price of the property, obligatorily including the share of the agency's fees to be paid by the buyer. This new regulation is not necessarily getting a warm reception, especially in the prestige sector, where discretion is often the golden rule.
